Frequently Asked Questions

Nearly all questions about The CyberNation of Freedom can be answered by reading the 'Liberation of the Individual' document. We have listed a number of frequently asked questions here for your convenience.

  1. What is The CyberNation of Freedom? The CyberNation of Freedom is the Internet-based nation of the new millennium. It is an autonomous nation empowered by the individuals who have voluntarily chosen to be its citizens. It does not exist in physical form and therefore has no borders. The CyberNation is instead based primarily on the Internet and built upon the union of the minds and spirits of its citizens with the common goal and purpose of returning and defending their inalienable rights.
  2. What are the 'inalienable rights' that the CyberNation is seeking to return and defend? These are the rights that every individual is created with and that cannot legitimately be taken away. The English philosopher John Locke defined these rights as life, liberty and property. "The state of nature has a law of nature to govern it,... no one ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty, or possessions." (John Locke, The Second Treatise of Government, 1690) Thomas Jefferson, in the United States Declaration of Independence, reiterated these rights as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. (The right to property being but one segment in the broader right to the pursuit of happiness.)
  3. What is the purpose of the CyberNation? The purpose of the CyberNation is to restore the dignity and legitimacy of the physical nations by returning them to the 'Eight Legitimate Roles of Government' that are based upon the defense of the individual's inalienable rights.
  4. What is the central premise of the CyberNation? The central premise of the CyberNation is that the individual, not the state, is the sovereign unit of existence. As such, the individual is empowered to make his or her own decisions, and cannot legitimately be forced to submit to any authority, including the government, that attempt to infringe upon his or her inalienable rights. The role of government is to protect those inalienable rights, not to trespass on them.
  5. What are the goals of the CyberNation?
  6. What are the CyberNation's 'Eight Legitimate Roles of Government'?
  7. How does the CyberNation plan to achieve its goals? The CyberNation is a people-based movement, and it will be the power of our ideas and the strength of our numbers that will enable us to achieve our goals. "One hundred million people with the same goal acting separately have little power, but the same one hundred million people acting together can alter the direction of history." We need all of our citizens and friends to help us spread the message of The CyberNation of Freedom so that we can attain the numbers necessary to bring about positive change.
  8. How can I help spread the message of The CyberNation of Freedom? There are a number of ways that you can help, but the easiest way is to use our simple and free E-mail the World delivery system to personally e-mail notes to your family and friends with an instant link to the CyberNation website. Another option is to print the 'Liberation of the Individual' document, make copies of it, and send it to your family and friends. Any creative and law abiding idea you have to spread the message of the CyberNation will be a great help. If you have an interest in volunteering further please E-mail Us.
  9. What is the Electronic CyberVillage?
  10. What is Electronic Charity?
  11. Is the CyberNation an advocate of non-violence? Yes, the CyberNation unwaveringly adheres to the path of non-violence to achieve change, as inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. No violence of any nature will be advocated or supported.
  12. Does the CyberNation support the violation of the current laws and policies of the physical nations? No, the CyberNation does not. We support the 'rule of law' necessary to maintain civil societies, and therefore will not advocate or support the violation of any laws of the physical nations. The CyberNation does intend to change those laws and policies of the physical nations that are in violation of the individual's inalienable rights, but will act to do so within the law. Through the power of our ideas and the strength of our numbers, we are confident that we will prevail.
  13. Is the CyberNation a religious movement? No, the CyberNation is not religious movement. We support the policy of the separation of Church (Religion) and State, as advocated by Thomas Jefferson and the United States, whereby individuals of all religious faiths, or lack thereof, are equally welcome and protected under the law.
  14. Who are the citizens of the CyberNation? Individuals from literally all walks of life are becoming Cyber-Citizens. The one common denominator that they all seem to have is the desire to bring about positive change in our world. Individuals of all nations, races and creeds are invited to join. It doesn't matter if you surf the Internet daily, or have never even heard of it before. Everyone is welcome.
  15. Can I be a citizen of the CyberNation, and also maintain my citizenship in the nation where I live? Yes, and we strongly encourage you to do so. We are all proud of and committed to our various national heritages. The purpose of the CyberNation is not for you to leave your physical nation, but in fact for you to help us restore the dignity and legitimacy of your native nation by returning it to the 'Eight Legitimate Roles of Government' that are based upon the defense of the individual's inalienable rights.
