Protecting
Children Online
The CyberNation of Freedom is an unwavering supporter of the
right to freedom of speech for all individuals, and in all aspects
of their lives. This includes speech on the Internet and any
other technologies which may arise in the future. Basic individual
rights are never to be sacrificed.
However, The CyberNation
of Freedom does recognize the dangers that parents see for
their children on the Internet. (e.g. websites which promote
pornography, violence, criminal activity, the making of bombs,
etc.) The government is trying to get involved in this issue
by way of restricting and regulating our rights through the enactment
of a national decency law (a.k.a. censorship), but these illegitimate
actions are not needed. Whenever a widespread consumer need exists,
the competitive markets will create solutions. We have listed
below a number of market-based solutions to this parental concern,
and expect that many more will be surfacing in the near future.
(Please feel free to E-mail
Us with new solutions that are created so that we can
list them here.)
